Action Films  

Arguably the grand daddy of all film genres – starting with The Great Train Robbery way back in 1903 (Wow that’s really old), Hollywood has been making Action and Adventure movies since the very beginning of the movie business. You probably know what these films entail, but for those of you who are slow and/or just bored, here’s a list of things you can expect to see in film trailers from the action-adventure genre: car chases, foot chases, ticking clocks, bombs, explosions, people running away from explosions, knife fights, drug deals, martial arts, cheesy one liners, cheesy tag lines, summer release dates, good guys, bad guys, muscles, boobs, babes, women in peril, overly dramatic music, overly dramatic voice over, actors yelling, “NOOO!,” Oscar winning actors collecting a quick paycheck to support their debilitating drug habit, and the phrase: “From Producer Jerry Bruckheimer.”
